Ferrari World is still under construction on the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The first theme park named for the automaker is being built on over 135 acres of land in the emirate. It is scheduled to open in the latter half of 2010.

Ferrari has been working steadily on the Ferrari F450 production car, the successor to the F430, their best selling mid-engine V8 supercar to date. So far they have been on a roll. The F355, 360 Modena and the current F430 have all been widely touted and very successful for the car manufacturer.

In fact, the 380 horsepower Ferrari F355 that was produced between 1994 and 1999 saved Ferrari from the brink of bankruptcy. During those years it was available as a Gran Turismo Berlinetta (GTB), Targa (GTS) and roadster (Spider) with a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph.

The 400 horsepower Ferrari 360 Modena came along in 1999 and dropped the 0-60 mph time to 4.3 seconds, pushing top speed up to 185 mph. In 2000, the Ferrari 360 Challenge was release as a track variant to compete in Ferrari's Challenge Championship series. The final version was released in 2003 as the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale. Sporting an engine rated at 425 bhp, its 0 to 60 mph acceleration time was in the 4.1 second range with a 186 mph top speed.

The Ferrari F430 was released in 2004, featuring a 490 hp engine capable of 4 second flat sprints from 0 to 60 mph with a top speed of 196 mph. Similar to the work Ferrari did with the 360, the F430 was also released in two additional variations - Challenge (490 hp) and Challenge Stradale (520 hp). However, in 2007 at the Frankfurt Auto Show, they released the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, a leaner (220 lbs weight reduction) and more powerful (508 hp) version capable of 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph.

Ferrari F50 1997

The F50 is dubbed on of the scariest cars ever made. It has a all carbon-fibre body and a stripped out interior coupled with a 4.7 V12 engine out of Alain Prost’s Formula 1 winning championship car. This really is F1 for the road. The cars monstrous and high-revving V12 engine puts out 513bhp and a top speed of 202mph. The F50 was made to celebrate Ferrari’s 50th Anniversary back in 1995 two years early. I found this stunning example (1 of only 349 ever made) in Dick Lovett Ferrari dealership near Swindon. Many critics say that the F50 is so much more fun to drive than the Enzo. And for the fraction of the price of one too. The Enzo stacks up at about a cool £750k-£1million whilst the F50 is about £300-£400k. The music is Gore by Jeff Dycke taken from the Need For Speed II soundtrack of which this car was the star of the 1997 game for playstation.

Leak: Ferrari 599 Hybrid Concept

We've been hearing a lot about Ferrari's Geneva-bound 599 Hybrid concept model for quite some time now, but the Italian supercar maker apparently can't keep it under wraps anymore as the first photos of the prototype model made it onto the web today.

In response to initial reports, Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo confirmed during the Ferrari F10 Formula 1 car launch that a 599 hybrid concept was indeed under development. Now photos have surfaced from a private presentation and they are quite detailed.

The system comprises of an electric motor producing somewhere around 100 horsepower and 137Nm (110 lb-ft) of torque that is attached on the back-end of the rear-mounted transmission, and a battery pack located under the floor.

Looking at the photos with strategically placed mirrors for optimum viewing, we can see the electric motor attached to the rear of the differential. Located just beneath the floor pan is the battery labeled "Danger High Voltage."

Last but not least, we were told that the hybrid system is still in its infancy stage and will most likely take a few years to be offered on a series production model.
