Cassie's talent is debatable but she is a knock out beauty and surprisingly her new hairstyle seems to be catching on among C-listers like MTV's Lala and Carmen Elecktra. She wore this shredded little black dress by Mark Fast to last night's BET Awards. What do you think of her new deconstructed style?
Paula attends the Cannes premier of "Precious" based on the novel Push by Sapphire.
As beautiful as Paula is, I don't always love her clothing choices but she looks spectacular here. I love the neckline. I'm glad she opted for color instead playing it safe with a black evening gown.
Sadly, there was no Naomi this year because of the Azzedine Alaïa boycott but there were still plenty of pretty brown folk in attendance.
Alek Wek was a stunner in her brightly colored cocktail dress and Iman was glamourous as usual (even though I feel like I've seen this style of dress on her a hundred times before.) Ciara went the demure route which was fine (but a bit dull in my opinion.) Tyra's hair reminds me of a cinnamon roll, Kanye and Amber were all smiles and while I generally love her look, I think her dress looks a little too snug. Meanwhile post-Chris Rihanna bit Janelle Monae's look hard. Andre Leon Talley? Well he and his massive tunic were there too.
I'm still looking for pics of Joy Bryant, Kerry Washington, Liya Kebede, Arlenis Sosa, and Halle Berry.
I think both ladies hit it out of the park this time around. Viola, who's beautiful looks always seem to be downplayed in the movies, is looking quite glamorous in this yellow David Meisterat and Taraji looks so sultry in this white Herve Leroux gown that I've already forgotten how annoying I found her character in "Baby Boy." I cannot wait to see what they wear at the Oscars.
Anyone else watch The Golden Globes last night? I'm wondering how model Alek Wek scored the best seat in the house. I'm not wild about the dress but the Dior jewel tone number looks beautiful against her skin on television.
Gina Torres always looks so regal to me. I guess it's fitting then that she went with a purple gown. Sigh... I still miss "Firefly."
Taraji P. Henson is really accumulating an impressive collection of red carpet pics. I like this J. Mendel dress a lot but I think the dark colors and ruffles looked a little drab on television.
Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez both looked great in my opinion but I think they should have switched dresses. Both of them have sported similar looks in the past.
Viola Davis looked so pretty sitting at her table, I was hoping she would at least get to present an award so I could see her dress. She went with darker tones too but I think she still looks very glamorous here.
I'm just not feeling Shaun Robinson's gown. At all.
ETA: Rutina Wesley just looks flawless.

Ordinarily, I admire her fashion sense. Honestly, I think she's one of the most consistently best dressed actresses in Hollywood but I'm not sure how I feel about this ensemble. I think that for once, I actually prefer it on the model. To get away with all the frothy pleating it helps if one is six foot tall and with not a curve in sight. It may just be the angle but I think that length on Kerry makes her look a little squatty.
The Costume Institute Gala is second only to The Oscars for whatwasshethinking? fashion rubbernecking. Just as interesting as who wore what is figuring out why some people were invited in the first place (Sarah Silverman? Really?) This year's celebration doesn't disappoint, there are some high marks (I think Thandie Newton and Zoe Kravitz look great) but the lows are out in full force as well. Anna Wintour's get up makes me crave a plate of escargot baked in tinfoil for some reason...

Looking at this Roberto Cavalli gown on the runway model does absolutely nothing for me. It just hangs on her like a sequined boho feedbag.
Designers like skinny models because they get to use less fabric in creating the runways looks and because bony models supposedly don't distract from the clothes themselves.
To my eye, they don't seem to add much to them either. I would never have looked at this particular dress and thought it would even be worth salivating over but it truly becomes something else entirely on Thandie Newton (who, to be fair, is pretty petite herself.) I just think she looks fantastic in it.
I've often thought that the reason celebrities provoke such clothing hysteria is because it gives the average person an opportunity to see how designer clothes look on someone who eats more than once a week. Of course, there are exceptions to this but it is rare that become enamored of I see something I see on the runway these days.
In my opinion Keisha Whitaker was by far the best dressed woman at this year's Oscars. She looked flawless in the J'Aton Couture gown. I wasn't a huge fan of the canary yellow dress she wore last year to the event but this more than makes up for it. The off white gown makes her skin radiate. Nearly every photo I've seen of her over that past year has been picture perfect and she is slowly eclipsing Thandie Newton as my favorite red carpet star.
Yep. Another Kerry post. She has a fantastic sense of style and is so elegant and beautiful that I couldn't help but share this edition of Allure's "Fashion Stakeout" here. I love how uncomplicated most of her looks are. Very glad to see that she's getting more recognition on the style pages and I hope that it translates into better quality movie roles for her. That green Doo.Ri gown is one of my all-time favorites. Source: Thank you Luxx for scanning these images & uploading to TFS!
I never thought I would write these words but Serena Williams looks amazing. What a difference figure flattering clothes, her natural hair color and dumping her makeup gun have made. I don't know what stylist of the gods got a hold of her but s/he deserves an award, his or her own clothing line and a book deal. Bravo! Source: TFS
